Jean-Baptiste turned 6 today. It is amazing how time flies. We had a great day. The sun was out (at last), and we went to an adventure park to climb trees, and jump from them (http://www.vivons-perches.com/). Great fun, I am looking forward to go back to do the longest and hardest course. After that, we enjoyed crepes in Tregastel, in a small creperie called Tymaï (http://www.tymai.fr/). The crepes were good, and the boss was quite a character.

3rd Baby Durand, second scan
Those of you who received our latest prayer letter will know that Esther is expecting our 3rd child. The second scan took place this morning. It was great to see the baby’s little face, body, arms, legs… Everything is going well so far.
Easter break in North Wales
We arrived in Bala on Tuesday 26th April after an uneventful journey. We made our way to Bangor on the following day and met with some family in the evening.
On Thursday, we went to the wedding of the year. Esther’s sister Sara was getting married to rev Phil Highton; from Cheadle. It was a happy day, with a beautiful sunny weather. The reception took place in the Bulkeley arms, in Beaumaris, Anglesey.
We stayed overnight and spent the day in Beaumaris again with Esther’s family. They had booked a meeting room to watch the Royal wedding. I looked after the children (5 of them), when the grown ups enjoyed the show. We came back in the afternoon. Today (Saturday), the weather is still gorgeous. there are people everywhere in town, and by the lakeside. We’ll make our way back to Southampton on Monday afternoon and fly back home on Tuesday.
Holiday: Going back to the UK
I came back from the UK a week ago, and we are getting ready to go again tomorrow. Esther’s sister Sara is getting married on Thursday in Bangor. We will have a few days rest and we are coming back the following Tuesday (3rd May).
Easter Weekend
Good Friday is a normal day here, so nothing special happened except evangelism on the market in the morning. I preached from 1 Corinthians 15:1-34 on Sunday morning. The theme was the importance of the resurrection.
We had some visitors: some friends of Esther’s parents who own a house in central Brittany. They joined us for worship and came home for lunch. After they left, we wen for a long walk in the countryside, enjoying the sunshine.
School carnival
Today was the school carnival. We had a beautiful sunshine, and a lot of fun. There was all sorts of costumes. There were several superheroes, footballers, princesses, cowboys… But only one rastafari. I only saw one policeman, but there could have been more. We went back to the school after wandering through the streets. We had crepes and fruit juices with the children. In Brittany, you have crepes all the time. If you are ever considering moving here, you’ll have to learn to like them.
