The new guys from the camping have arrived

I’ve already mentioned several times that a Franco-English couple was buying the local campsite. They arrived last week, and we visited them yesterday, and again today. They have a lot of work to do before they can open, but they seem full of energy. It is a beautiful site, along the river, with woodland… I’ll take some pictures and post them.

Good to be back home

There is nothing like home.

We had a good break and came back today. We drove from Bala to Southampton on Monday. I was expecting heavy traffic because people would have been travelling back from a long weekend. But it wasn’t too bad. I noticed the satnav took us another way, maybe that’s the reason why traffic was not too heavy.

We slept in a travelodge in Southampton and flew to Rennes in the morning. Since we had all afternoon, we drove home following a scenic route, going through the center of Brittany. It was sunny and beautiful. Back to the study tomorrow, although I need to cut the lawn as well.

Easter break in North Wales

We arrived in Bala on Tuesday 26th April after an uneventful journey. We made our way to Bangor on the following day and met with some family in the evening.

On Thursday, we went to the wedding of the year. Esther’s sister Sara was getting married to rev Phil Highton; from Cheadle. It was a happy day, with a beautiful sunny weather. The reception took place in the Bulkeley arms, in Beaumaris, Anglesey.

We stayed overnight and spent the day in Beaumaris again with Esther’s family. They had booked a meeting room to watch the Royal wedding. I looked after the children (5 of them), when the grown ups enjoyed the show. We came back in the afternoon. Today (Saturday), the weather is still gorgeous. there are people everywhere in town, and by the lakeside. We’ll make our way back to Southampton on Monday afternoon and fly back home on Tuesday.
