Carey conference (2)

It was good to attend the Carey ministers conference this week. There were several goals to the trip: get refreshed spiritually off course, but also networking (getting to know people and getting them to know me). All the conferences were excellent and thought provoking. Bruce Ware on the Spirit filled Messiah was the highlight of the week. For some reports of the week, have a look at Gary Brady’s blog. The first post is here.

I was able to meet some fellow UFM missionaries and a member of the UFM council, and to arrange two meetings for my deputation trip in April. I also had the opportunity to speak a little about our work during the sharing time on Wednesday afternoon. On this occasion quite a few leaflets, prayer cards and newsletters went.

Visit to the UK, April 2011

Borras Park Church in Wrexham contacted us a month ago to ask if we were going to visit the UK next year, and if we could come and visit. We had not planned a visit, but thought it could be good to spend a bit of time doing deputation. We went for April.

D.V. I plan to visit some churches at the beginning of the month, and attend the Banner of Truth minister’s conference in the second week. The date for Wrexham is 6th April.

I will try to make the most of this visit to contact new churches, so if you know of churches interested in the work of the gospel in France, or if you would like me to visit your church, get in touch.

Missionaries: Help Us Help You | Church Plant Pastor

Here is an article I could have read before starting deputation: Missionaries: Help Us Help You | Church Plant Pastor. In it, Jeff  Brewer lists 10 things that he would ike missionaries to keep in mind when they share their ministry in a local church so that people in the congregations are gripped by a love for Christ and urgency for the task of world missions.

If you are a missionary it is a must read. If you aren’t a missionary, it is helpful as well.

House hunting trip (2)

When we left Brittany on Friday afternoon, we were left with a choice between a flat and our ideal house. But we had to wait for the landlord of the house to confirm to us by the end of the week, which he hasn’t done. Then, on Saturday, one of the Agencies we visited phoned us to talk about a house available in Pabu, just outside Guingamp. It was completely out of the blue, as agencies don’t usually phone back, and it got us really excited. It is a modern house, five years old. It has three bedrooms and a big living space as well as a small garden. We’ve asked Emmanuel and Maria Hartiel in Guingamp to visit it for us, and will keep in touch with the agency. We are keeping the option for the flat open though.

We’ll keep you posted.
